The School of Kinesiology (SOK) offers one doctoral concentration, two master's degrees, one graduate certificate, one bachelor's/accelerated master's program, one undergraduate degree and one minor. The SOK strives to develop a global reputation for delivering exceptional instruction, conducting research of consequence, and providing service to the community to enhance overall societal well-being. The SOK educates high-quality professionals through a variety of innovative experiential learning opportunities to improve the physical performance, health, and well-being of the community across the lifespan. This is done by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and using evidence- based practices to develop professional leaders.

Undergraduate Programs

The BS in Kinesiology is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP: American College of Sports Medicine sponsored) and holds national program recognition status from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-ERP). Students are exposed to a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach to the study of human movement, utilizing classroom, laboratory, and experiential learning environments.  Emphasis is placed upon the development of future professionals with strong scientific knowledge in health, wellness, and performance across the lifespan. Additionally, the school offers a minor in Kinesiology that compliments many other majors at the university, especially those focusing on the health sciences.

Bachelor's to Accelerated Master's Programs

The School of Kinesiology offers qualified undergraduates the opportunity to apply to an accelerated master's degree program. If accepted, students will earn both an undergraduate and a graduate degree after satisfactory completion of required credits within 5 years. More information about the degree options and application process may be found here.

Graduate Programs

The PhD in Education with a Kinesiology concentration cultivates research-based educators and practitioners to be critical thinkers and apply evidence-based (research-based) practice principles to preserve and enhance human movement in all settings and populations, promote optimal health and enhanced quality of life through physical activity, and provide rewarding learning experiences, through the conduct and dissemination of exemplary scholarship and preparation of professionals committed to service.

The MS in Athletic Training (MSAT) is a professional, entry-level program that prepares students to become certified athletic trainers with the clinical knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes that will enable them to deliver health care effectively to diverse patients in a variety of clinical settings, with an emphasis on the pediatric population. The MSAT is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).

The MS in Kinesiology provides students with an evidence-based approach to the study of Kinesiology, becoming data scientists who collect, analyze, interpret and present data regarding human movement. Graduates fill positions such as sport scientists, biomechanical and physiology researchers, clinical exercise physiologists and directors of strength and conditioning.

The Tactical Athlete Strength, Conditioning and Injury Prevention Graduate Certificate prepares graduates with foundational knowledge, skills and abilities to become leaders in tactical strength, conditioning and injury prevention.
